摘要
The transsphenoidal endoscopic approach is the surgical method of choice for the pituitary adenoma. We present this type of intervention related both, to the surgical technique and the important anatomical aspects for the patient and surgeon's safety, but also to the association of the elements of surgical risk. In the present paper, we will expose the advantages of the endoscopic approach to the classical microsurgical technique, due to the wide spectrum of exposure of the risk elements located in relation to the pituitary gland and the sphenoid sinus, through intraoperatory images, but also through cadaver dissection images (for the exposure of the detailed relations with the major risk structures located near to the pituitary gland). The results show that the endoscopic approach technique, well-managed by the operator takes on the classic approach techniques, by knowing the anatomy of the region, operating techniques and methods of managing frequent postoperative complications. Interdisciplinary cooperation (neurosurgery, endocrinology) is absolutely necessary.
