摘要
Construction professionals are urged to pay attention to wider economic, environmental and social concerns as principles and sustainability indicators in built environment practices. The paper reviews the concept of sustainability into ethical decision-making. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and the local community as well as society at large. In literature review a three-domain model of CSR composed of economic, legal and ethical is found. A previous study on conceptual framework links business ethics to behavior in organizations and society. This shows that the CSR relates to the social contact between business and the society. Individual's moral judgment is often associated with business-related behaviors and plays a crucial role in business ethics within an organization. The theoretical framework of sustainable decision-making based on literature review is proposed to construction professionals. This model provides an insight of how the sustainability dimensions impact on ethical decision-making at individual and corporate levels that are critical to sustainable development. This can help practitioners and organizations raise awareness of social responsibility when making decision with this model.
