World Digital Library World Cultures in One Click

Culture acts as the identity of every civilization throughout the world. It enables every nation to pass the information and knowledge from generation to generation. With the advent of technology and changes day in and day out in every sphere of life, it has become quite difficult for the people of world to acquaint themselves with their cultural knowledge and preserve it for further use. So in this scenario an effort from the U.S. Library of Congress (www.loc.gov) in collaboration with United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) (en.unesco.org) called as World Digital Library (WDL) (www.wdl.org/en/) has been developed to help preserve valuable items of information and knowledge from every nation or the world on a single platform. This study is an effort to analyse the contents of WDL with special reference to the contributions country wise, topic wise, type of items, language, time period, instutions and type of institutions.
