摘要
The paper intended to investigate the variances on land use using a combination of mathematical statistical method and geographical information systems (GIS). Both the spatial and temporal domains of change are dealt with. Results show that land-use intensity of six central districts in Tianjin city improved from 2001- 2011. Three districts located in the northeast are lack of rationality comparing with the other three in the southwest. The geographic center - Heping district achieved the higher degree. The policy impacts and economic development level are the primary driving forces causing the variances.
