Evaluation of the maintenance management system based on the ISO 9001: 2015 Standard of quality and reliability to the electricity section of a PDVSA refining complex

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the implementation of the maintenance management system in the electricity section of a PDVSA refining complex, given that electrical maintenance must incorporate continuous improvement methods that allow the achievement of fundamental objectives, such as maximization of equipment availability and reliability, minimize maintenance cost, maximize quality, minimize damage to the environment and increase the effectiveness of investments. The maintenance management system evaluation was carried out, using the methodology applied in the ISO 9001: 2015 Standard, COVENIN 2500-93 Standard, which allowed the current maintenance plan to be systematically evaluated. It was evidenced that based on the application parameters of the ISO 9001: 2015 Standard, the electricity section of the refining complex is far below complying with the Maintenance Management System. Finally, several proposals are made supported by the results of the evaluation where it is suggested to implement the ISO 9001: 2015 regulation in its sections 4 to 10 and supported by the PDVSA Standard MM-01-01-00 for the achievement of the objectives and goals.
