摘要
Airports are highly complex workplaces with diverse activities and hazards. On airport aprons in particular, the risk of hazardous substance release during various activities cannot be ruled out. In this publication, the apron activities concerned, e.g. refuelling, catering, de-icing and freight loading, are listed along with the possible hazardous substance exposure. The focus of this publication is on basic information on which hazardous substances can arise during which activities and where elevated exposure can be expected. Disregarded is hazardous substance exposure in commercial aircraft, i.e. affecting passengers and crew members. Part 2 of this publication addresses hazardous substance exposure to de-icing agents, kerosene, diesel engine emissions and nitrogen oxides. It also brings together the findings on biomonitoring available to date.
