THE UNIVERSAL AND THE SINGULAR

This paper aims to show that the notion of universality, which traditionally has heen set against the notion of particularity, namely by Hegel, may he connected to the notion of singularity as defined through the lense of Christianity, by the great contemplator of existence that is Kierkegaard and then later revisited hy Heidegger. On this basis, we might subsequently problematize the appearance of the notion of universality in the context of Greek thought and that of monotheism whose origin and development in Hebraic and Mazdean thinking are here under reexamination.
