摘要
The geostationary meteorological satellite Himawari-8 can observe the Earth's hemisphere on the Pacific Ocean side at 10-minute intervals and around Japan at 2.5-minute intervals. Continuous observation that is impossible using conventional polar orbital satellites can be made. The spatial resolutions of the visible and near-infrared region images are 500 m - 1 km and that for the far-infrared region is 2 km, which is comparable to those of the observational data of polar orbital satellites. This study attempted to quantify the urban thermal environment from thermal images of Himawari-8/Advanced Himawari Imager (AHI) using the isothermal distribution of the earth surface temperature and its diurnal changes.
