Analysis on Expansion Levels of the Information System of the Chinese Small and Medium Enterprise

In this strongly competitive market, the small and medium enterprise (SME) has its own advantages in its adaptability to the fluctuation of the market and its flexibility of decision. However, both its adaptability and flexibility can't be separated from the availability of all kinds of information and from the sensibility to the important information. The information is able to be obtained and analyzed in time and exactly only on the conditions that comprehensive information system has been established. So the construction of the information system of SME is inevitable. This paper explores the background where SME lies now and its main features and the necessity of its information system in today's global integration economy. The paper also puts forward the points of view that the information system of SME should be developed in levels. It further points out that the information system of SME is different from that of some big enterprises and has its own characteristics: brief, comprehensive, convenient, timely and precise.
