摘要
The temporary shutdown of net segments for maintenance of the elements of the water distribution network or for network reconstruction is inevitable. The size of the segment and therefore the number of consumers which are not supplied during the shutdown and respectively the amount of water which is demanded but not delivered essentially depends on the valves installed in the network. This article presents an approach for analysing the impact of valve location on the reliability of water distribution systems and discusses its application by means of a case study, a supply area of the water distribution network of Nizhny Novgorod in Russia.
