摘要
In this paper, we introduce technology for MPEG-2 video (video data compressed with MPEG-2 method) communication over ATM. (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) network, and describe issues for the communication and summary of ATM interface board developed for MPEG-2 Codec VisuaLink7000EX. We have developed two kinds of ATM interface boards; one is 150 M ATM board that can be applied to SDH STM-1 UNI interface, and the other is 6 M ATM board that can be applied to UNI interface for NTT 6 M Cell Relay service network. In the case of 150 M:ATM, we have realized absorption of CDV (Cell Delay Variation) ranging from 0 to 20 ms by using NEC DSP. In addition, by implementation of adaptive clock recovery, we have achieved recovery of TS (Transport Stream) service clock that did not depend on network clock. Finally, using the newly developed ATM interface boards, we have confirmed the mutual connectivity (interconnectivity) of the VisuaLink7000EX to the other MPEG-2 terminals.
