Argentine exports in the long term (end of the 19th century-beginning of the 21st century) Introduction

This dossier has emerged regarding the declaration of the Argentine government that the year 2019 should be the "Year of Exportation". We have considered studying the role of exports in the Argentine economy during the long term, highlighting ruptures and continuities. We believe that the issue is relevant given the recurrence, both in the public and private spheres, of pointing out that the export sector is one that foster the national economy. Divided chronologically, the dossier has contributions made by Agustina Rayes (1870-1930), Teresita Gomez and Julio Ruiz (1930-1955), Juan Odisio and Marcelo Rougier (1955-1975), Matias Kulfas and Andres Salle (1976-1990) and Andres Wainer and Paula Belloni (1990s to the present).
