摘要：

Size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) with online detection by ICP-MS appears to be the primary technique that allows the detection of the presence of metals bound to macromolecular ligands in an unknown sample, It enables the obtention of information on the distribution of the metal(s) present in the sample among the fractions of different molecular weight with detection limits down to 1 ng mL(-1) for most elements. Some applications in the fields of the plant, animal and clinical biochemistry are presented.
