摘要
Renewable energy resources are the main scope of future energy scenario. Wind energy will increasingly make larger contributions to electricity generation throughout the world. Intermittency in power flow and stability problems are some of the major problems associated with renewable generation. When generation is in large scale, these issues also increase in large scale. In conventional power system, synchronous generators (SG) are connected directly with the grid. Modern wind farm (WF) is coupled to the grid through power electronic converters, which has a wide bandwidth to achieve rapid current control or slow power regulation. Therefore, the small-signal stability analysis of high wind power penetrated power system is different from the SG based conventional power system. This study is carrying with the modeling of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind farm and small signal stability analysis of a two area power system with and without wind farm by using time domain simulations. MATLAB/SIMULINK is using for modeling and Power System Analysis Toolbox (PSAT) in MATLAB is used for small signal stability analysis. This work reveal the influence of wind speed, wind power penetration and other factors on small signal stability.
