摘要：

Yellow fever was the scourge of the Americas for 200 years, until the US Army's yellow fever board in the early 1900s determined how it was spread. The live, attenuated 17D vaccine and mosquito control programs can now prevent almost all disease. Vigilance is necessary, however, because the vector mosquitoes are ever present; all that is needed is introduction of the etiologic agent.
