摘要：
Light-emitting diodes were first demonstrated 100 years ago. We take this opportunity to look back 100 years as to how the technology evolved from its accidental discovery to the most precious light source available to humankind. We also look forward 10 years to exciting new developments and fiinctionalities afforded by light-emitting diodes.
