摘要
The majority of devices share common features, which contrasts with the many uses to which they are put. Equipment manufacturers have a role to play in the reduction of product life cycle by increasing the flexibility of their equipment and decreasing its cost and time to market, This paper discusses the observation of similar patterns in the fundamental structure of mechatronic systems, which creates the reason for the development of IMS (interoperable, modular and scalable) tools. Furthermore, the development of an open architecture for controls within the paradigm is also discussed. Each mechatronic device can be broken down into its component sub-units to separate essential functions. The objects using interfaces reveal functionality.
