[1,2-bis(2-(o-hydroxyphenoxy)ethoxy)ethane]lithium perchlorate:: Preparation and crystal structure

摘要
A crystalline complex of lithium perchlorate with a podand, 1,2-bis(2-(o-hydroxyphenoxy)ethoxy)ethane (L), [LiL](+).ClO4- (I), was prepared and studied by X-ray diffraction. The structure of I (space group P2(1)/n, a = 11.871 Angstrom, b = 11.322 Angstrom, c = 15.715 Angstrom, beta = 95.35degrees, Z = 4) was solved by the direct method and refined by full-matrix least-squares calculations in the anisotropic approximation to R = 0.059 for all 3785 independent reflections (CAD4 automated diffractometer, lambdaCuK(alpha) radiation). The asymmetric part of the crystal cell of I contains a host-guest type [LiL](+) complex cation and a disordered ClO4- anion. The Li+ coordination polyhedron is a highly distorted octahedron whose vertices are occupied by the six O atoms of podand L. The crystal structure of I contains ion-ion hydrogen bonds O-(HO)-O-...-Cl, which link the [LiL](+) cations and Clo(4)(-) anions into chains infinite along the y axis.
