摘要
This paper presents a concept of Manufacturing Process Based on Information (MPBI). It is the heart of design, machining, and control of the manufacturing equipments and requires knowledge from other disciplines. The MPBI should be keeping up with the development of management and decision-making information. And the keys to the Manufacturing Information Engineering (MIE) is about information integration, exchange, and reconfigure abilities of material processing and handling equipments. A future intelligent work-cell that is conceived with standard and inter-operable hardware and software components based on knowledge mining, deployment and innovation is described. Manufacturing information is the basis of intelligent work-cell.
