摘要
Influenza is one of the most dangerous infectious diseases. Primary prevention is possible by vaccination of individuals at risk. Antivirals have on increasing impact in this setting. New agents like neuraminidase inhibitors are efficacious and well-tolerated in the prophylaxis and treatment of influenza. Their use in treatment shortens duration of symptoms and time to recovery from illness. However, the placement in the therapeutic armamentarium has yet to be defined. Advantages and potential drawbacks of these anti-influenza drugs ore discussed.
