摘要
This study presents an empirical model for evaluating the temporal (sea-sonal and LT) and spatial (geographic latitude-longitude structure) distribution of the ionospheric total electron content (TEC) response to weak geomagnetic disturbances and the lack of solar disturbances. The model is applied to the hourly time series of the Center for Orbit Determination of Europe (CODE) TEC data for the period of 1999-2018. The TEC data are provided in the geographic network for latitudes from 87.5 degrees S to 87.5 degrees N with step of 2.5 degrees and for longitudes from 180 degrees W to 180 degrees E with step of 5 degrees. The relative TEC dependence on the geomagnetic activity is designated by a linear function modulated by the diurnal variability; the latter is described by a Fourier time series including four harmonics. Examples of the global latitude-longitude distribution of the TEC response in summer and winter seasons and for three local times are presented.
