摘要
This paper investigates object detection and tracking in a video sequence. The detection and tracking technologies have been extensively applied in numerous domains. The object is defined by its location and extent in a single frame. In every frame that follows, the task is to confirm the object's location and extent or indicate that the object is not present. Since the performance varies from the object background in the video, such as the occlusion, lighting and the variation scale, it is essential to improve algorithms for detecting and tracking the object in video sequence. This paper provides a detailed introduce to the traditional and the state-of-the-art approaches, analysis the advantages and disadvantages of these methods. After summarizing previous research works, we indicate some problems that should be studied and solved in the future.
