摘要
Gregory of Nyssa has been known not only for his contribution to the formation of Trinitarian theology, but also for his profound influence on the idea of Christian spirituality. His idea of spiritual growth as an endless spiritual journey has been studied a lot. Most of them have focused on his later works, such as De vita Moysis and In Canticum canticorum, in which the idea of spiritual journey has been most fully laid out. However, his earlier works are not without value in this regard. This article compares the descriptions of the spiritual journey in one of his earlier works De beatitudinibus and one of his later works De vita Moysis, so as to find out whether there is consistency in Gregory's thoughts on spiritual journey throughout his life and how his thoughts have developed over the years.
