摘要
Objective. The objective is to quantify and chronologically trace the production of scientific articles indexed in the Journal Citation Report database related to the use of photo-elicitation as a research methodology in the field of education. Design/Methodology/Approach. The data were exported to an ad-hoc database with a relational structure. The sample consisted of 128 publications. The data analysis was carried out by means of a coding process with a categorical system developed ad-hoc and using the SPSS V 21 programme. Results/Discussion. The production of scientific articles related to photo-elicitation in the field of education has been on the rise since 2008. With regard to the distribution of authors by gender, the presence of women is greater and more constant than that recorded in other studies where men have a greater production. The institutions of affiliation are diverse. Conclusions. From the first recorded publication to the present day, this type of study has grown considerably, although it is still residual compared to other qualitative research techniques such as interviews or focus groups. Originality/Value. This article highlights an emerging research technique in the field of qualitative research in education, namely photo-elicitation.
