Convection-radiation coupling in a differentially heated cavity at high Rayleigh number

摘要
Two numerical simulations considering different convection-radiation coupling approaches are performed for the interaction between surface radiation and turbulent natural convection in an air-filled cavity at Ra = 4.10(10). Time-averaged fields and spatially averaged quantities are computed over around 300 convective time-units and both heat transfer and fluid flow structure are analyzed. Numerical results are compared with a qualitatively good agreement, and the differences observed between the two strategies are discussed.
