摘要
This paper shows development work of the bidirectional DC/DC converter with peak power 1000kW for the stationary battery energy storage systems installed at 1500V DC traction railways. This paper introduces the operation power patterns for railway battery energy storage systems (BESSs) at first. Then, the thermal model, the new temperature calculation method and the experiments on the developed converter considering the operation power patterns are reported. For evaluating the thermal performances of the converter, a precise thermal model was developed. The model has been confirmed to have good agreement with the preliminary experiments. Based on the model, the temperature rises in the operation power patterns were evaluated with a new method which is effective to calculate the repetitive thermal duty. This method enables to evaluate the thermal stresses in tremendous number of cases. In the factory, the converter has been applied the operation power patterns equivalent to the actual fields.
