摘要
The success of any organisation largely depends on its management. It is of utmost importance that managers at all levels make it formed decisions, which implies that they need to know how to find, evaluate, and use information. Therefore, managers must be information literate to be able to carry out their functions in today's complex and dynamic business environment. With this in mind, the aim of the present study was to investigate the it formation literacy of Croatian managers in the context of their ability to find information and use it effectively in the decision-making process. In order to answer the research questions, an online survey was conducted on a sample of Croatian managers. In addition to descriptive statistics, the Wilcoxon signed rank test, Mann-Whitney test, and Kruskal-Wallis test were used to analyse the data. According to the results, the surveyed managers were quite confident in their general information literacy skills, as well as in their ability to find and use it formation effectively in decision-making. The study further revealed that the analysed groups of managers with different background characteristics mostly did not differ significantly in their self-assessments, with the exception of age and management level. However, only age proved to be an important predictor of managers' information literacy-related skills. In all cases, the youngest managers' self-assessments were highest, while the oldest managers gave themselves the lowest ratings. The issues addressed in this paper have not been adequately examined Seen in this context, these findings expand knowledge about the information literacy of managers and their decision-making ability.
