Effects of mechanical strain on proliferation of cancer cells in vitro

摘要
Effects of waveform and frequency on the proliferation of human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549 were studied by FX-4000 strain unit. The results show that cellular proliferative rate(PR) reduced significantly in squarewave group compared with the control after A549 cells were subjected to elastin 0-15% elongation at frequency 0.5Hz for 2h. No significant difference in PR was found between the control and the four stretched groups(heartwave, sinewave, 1/2sinewave and trianglewave) It is concluded that A549 cells do respond to physiological strain in vitro, squarewave may be optimal inhibitor for the proliferation of A549 cells. The effects of tension frequency had no distinct difference between 0.5Hz and 1.0Hz. The selected waveform play an important role in inhibiting proliferation of A549 cells.
