Convent lives, written in the first person, underwent several rewriting processes by con-fessors and religious authorities. This text examines the reelaboration that Alonso de san Geronimo (1668) engaged in of the original text by Ana de san Agustin (1606 and 1609), focusing not only on how passages from the former were incorporated into the latter but also on the new values they acquired when inserted into another textual con-text. It examines the staging of holiness put forth by the stories and the modes of female agency inscribed into them.
