摘要
Lithium-sulfur batteries are one of the most promising energy storage systems due to their high specific capacity and energy density. They are promising candidates for the electric vehicles. However, the severe shuttle effect of the soluble polysulfide inhibits the application of the lithium-sulfur battery. Therefore, hollow TiO2 spheres (HTOS) are synthesized and used as host materials for the element sulfur. For the as-prepared S@TiO2 (S@HTOS) composites, the presence of TiO2 could not only restrain the shuttle effect of the polysulfide, but also the hollow sphere structure is beneficial of the structural stability. As a result, the as-prepared S@HTOS composite electrode shows high initial specific capacity and superior cycle stability.
