Latin American Marxism and the Politics of Race

From Jose Carlos Mariategui's "politics of race" that appears along with his first programmatic formulation of Latin American Marxism (section one), such formulation is proposed as the source of diverse lines of flight of Marxism in Latin America. These references are approached by means of the perspective offered by Rodolfo Stavenhagen and Pablo Gonzalez Casanova around the category of "internal colonialismo" (section two), the conception of "abigarramiento" (disjointedness) proposed by Rene Zavaleta and also developed by Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui (section three), to conclude with the theory of modern-capitalist ethos modernocapitalistas elaborated by Bolivar Echeverria and the proposed relationship between modernity and "whiteness" (section four).
