摘要：

There have been 3 waves of Beckett studies in China exhibiting 5 major aspects in the criticism of his dramas. This paper examines how Beckett' s dramas have been understood and singles out the 5 aspects on which Chinese critics have focused: 1. art of time and space; 2. art of language use; 3. art of plotting; 4. psychoanalysis and politics of the body; 5. history of dramatic art. The criticism of Beckett' s dramas in China, made from various perspectives and focusing on various aspects, has been rather constructive.
