People who were treated in hospital (21%) and who had physical consequences after two years (15%), had a PTSD in higher percentage, a significant correlation of physical trauma and psychiatric consequences were not confirmed by factor analysis. Conclusion: Post traumatic stress disorder occurred after traffic accidents, which was present in 36% of subjects, was never reported alone, but only in combination with other psychiatric disorders.
