摘要
Women's right to the city is generally discussed in terms of gender inequalities between men and women as well as the patriarchal nature of the urban space. Of course, it is impossible to think of women's urban experiences without considering these two structural factors. However, this perspective carries the risk of overlooking the fact that women constitute a differentiated group along socio-economic, cultural and spatial inequalities and, their experiences, capabilities and needs are shaped through the prism of these inequalities. Based on the findings of a field work carried out in Aydin city center, this article argues that in order to determine women's differentiated problems and needs and, to develop policies and services addressing them, we must first focus on socio-economic and cultural inequalities among them and then those inequalities materialized in space, especially the spaces of everyday life, that is the neighborhood.
