摘要
• Movement disorders in children can be complex. Identification of the specific type of abnormal movement based on the spatial-temporal features is the essential first step toward diagnosis. • Specific diagnosis of these disorders usually requires evaluation and treatment by a neurologist. • In most cases, treatment is symptomatic and depends on the specific movement disorder. • Most treatment recommendations for the pediatric movement disorders discussed in this review are based on expert consensus and extrapolation from studies in adults who have comparable movement disorders.
