This paper presents a fast frequency estimator which can be used for a pilot-channel aided coherent DS-CDMA system with QPSK data/ QPSK spreading. This frequency estimator is based on the Kay's single frequency estimator[1] which is known to be an asymptotically optimum estimator. However in high speed applications, it is difficult to use this estimator because the weighting window changes with each new sample. In this paper, we propose a computationally efficient frequency estimator for DS-CDMA system which makes running sum calculation possible yet shows the same performance as Kay's fast and accurate single frequency estimator.
