The changing faces of veterinary students in the twenty-first century - A commentary

During the latter part of the twentieth century the veterinary profession and veterinary education in North America have undergone tremendous changes. This article explores the major changes in the competition and characteristics of the veterinary student body and some concerns of veterinary students. The primary factors considered are gender, family, disabilities, and race. Suggestions are made to assist veterinary colleges in addressing these changes.
