摘要
The telecommunications industry in Mexico has recently experienced a significant change in its regulatory and market structure. After many years of government control, telecommunications services had deteriorated to the point where they were unable to satisfy the needs of a large fraction of the nation's population, During the last eight years, the government has reformed this industry and many other industries by allowing private ownership and promoting competition. The government has defined a number of goals in terms of telephone penetration, modernization of services, and cost reductions, In spite of the reforms, the likelihood of attaining some of the targets for the year 2000 remains bleak, (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd, All rights reserved.
