A novel one-pot protocol for the syntheses of 2-chloro-pyrrolo[3,2-d]pyrimidines was described. A series of 2-chloro-pyrrolo[3,2-d]pyrimidines were prepared from readily available starting materials in moderate to good yields using this methodology. (C) 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved,
