摘要
This paper proposes a novel modular 18-slot 10-pole permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) with 9-phase unequal-coil-pitch fractional-slot winding (UCP-FSW). The proposed machine allows stator to be modularized while significantly reducing rotor loss, which usually plagues the PMSMs with the conventional fractional-slot concentrated windings (FSCWs). Moreover, it also exhibits the merits of low cogging torque, low torque ripple and easy manufacturing. The structure of the proposal and the winding factor of the working harmonic are described and computed in detail. In addition, the main electromagnetic characteristics of the proposed machine are analyzed by finite element method (FEM) and compared with those of its 15-slot 10-pole counterpart equipped with the conventional FSCW.
