摘要
In this study the abrasive wear behaviour of liquid crystal polymer (LCP), glass reinforced polyamide 46 (PA 46+30%GFR), and 30% glass fibre reinforced polyphenylenesulfide (PPS+30%GFR) engineering polymers were studied at atmospheric conditions. Pinon disc arrangement wear tests were carried out at 1m/sec test speed and load values of 4, 6 and 8N. Tests durations were for 50,100 and 150 m sliding distances. Emery paper grit varying from 80-400 grit were used as an abrasive disc surface. After each test the mass loss of the pin was recorded. Finally the specific wear rates were deduced from wear volume of the pin for test duration distances of 50, 100 and 150 m. The results showed that the highest wear rate is for LCP with a 3 value of 4.43x10(-1) mm(3)/Nm. and the lowest wear rate is for PA 46+30%GFR with a value of 1.63x 10,2 mm(3)/Nm. Furthermore, for all materials the wear rate increases linearly with increasing duration distance and decreases with the increase in load value.
