摘要
Three photo-sensitive anthraquinone acid dyes were applied on nylon, wool, and silk through a normal acid dyeing process. The dyes on the polymer surface provided photo-induced antimicrobial activity against microorganisms and can serve as immobilized photo-initiators to graft vinyl monomers onto the polymers. Photo-catalytic properties and antibacterial activity of these dyed polymers were investigated in this research. Good antibacterial activity was found under both UVA and fluorescent light, with UVA giving the better result. This activity was mainly due to hydrogen peroxide generated by the photo irradiation.
