摘要
The crystal structure of stibnite sampled from Herja ore deposit (Maramures county, Romania) located in the Gutai Mountains has been refined by using X-Ray powder diffraction data and the Rietveld method. Stibnite is the most common and widespread antimony minerals and is one of the end terms of the stibnite-bismuthinite isomorph series, crystallized in the orthorhombic system. The stibnite structure consists of [Sb4S6]n chains parallel to the c axis. Each antimony atom within a chain is coordinated by five sulfur atoms forming a square pyramid. The quality of the stibnite sample was pristine, this being composed only of stibnite crystals.
