摘要：
The mechanistic aspects of beta-butyrolactone ring-opening reactions with various activated anions, their regioselectivity and stereochemistry are discussed. The facile synthesis of biomimetic polyesters having similar microstructure and properties as produced in Nature, such as poly-(R)-3-hydroxybutanoic acid, has been accomplished.
