摘要
Objective: to determine the changes in the physical condition of students of Physical Culture, Sport and Recreation of the cohort 2013-1 to 2017-1 of the Universidad Santo Tomas (Colombia). Methodology: study of a quantitative type, with prospective follow-up from 2013-1 to 2017-1. Inclusion criteria: men and women; students of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sport and Recreation of the Santo Tomas University; have been active since entering college until the 2017-1 court date; no presence of musculoskeletal injuries in the last 3 months, which prevent post-fitness tests. Sample: from the total population (470 subjects), a sample of 132 students was taken (95% confidence index), who was evaluated for height, weight, strength (hand and back dynamometry), flexibility, speed and agility. Results: a decrease in the results after admission was found in the agility, speed and flexibility tests, and an increase in the results of muscular strength (hand and back). On the T test for related samples, the decrease was found to be greater in students who have more time in college. Discussion and conclusions: Although evaluated students study a program with an important practical component, there was no evidence of improvement in their physical condition, but rather the opposite, which raises the need to create spaces that promote the practice of physical activity as a lifestyle habit healthy.
