摘要
Globalization today has an impact on all aspects of life, especially in the business organization world. Introduction to various management systems, such as the Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2000), Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2004) and Safety and Health Management System (OHSAS 18001:1999), has changed its direction and form of management undertaken by the organization. It is said that the implementation of these three systems will bring benefits to the organization. It rises a question whether the organization is able to perform all three of the management systems at one time or whether it provides the maximum profit from the aspect of cost performance and the implementation of these systems. This is because there are many problems and constraints faced by the organization when implementing these three management systems either simultaneously or sequentially. Increased costs, repetitive works, increased use of time and the increased workload are the problems usually experienced by the organization. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a form of management that is integrated into the management environment as a result of combination of a series of quality management system (ISO 9001:2000), a series of environmental management systems (ISO 14001:1996) and a series of safety and health management system work (OHSAS 18001:1999), which is known as the Integrated Management System (IMS) that can be implemented or adopted by organizations in Malaysia.
