Comparative Study on Tourism Consumption Between Urban and Rural Residents

Domestic tourism income is the major tourism income in our country. Domestic tourism is comprised of two parts: urban residents' tourism consumptions and rural residents' consumptions. They differ both in sum and structure, so it's necessary to do comparative studies on them. This paper does comparative study by using data from Statistical Yearbook of China and Tourism Yearbook of China from year 2005 to 2014. This paper focuses on the following three aspects: tourism consumptions per capita and change, tourism consumptions under different motives, and tourism consumption structure analysis. The following suggestions are brought up: improving residents' income, narrow the gap between urban and rural area by way of tourism, tourism products should be diversified, and promotions to encourage reasonable tourism plans.
