摘要
This paper presents a mathematical optimization procedure for optimal placement and control of Distributed Series Reactor to improve reliability of transmission systems. A Particle Swarm Optimization approach is developed to solve the optimization problem. The methodology is implemented in a Python script that calls PSS (R) E functions in each iteration of the optimization process for performing power flow and contingency analysis. A numerical example in a real power system model - a region of the Argentinean interconnected system -is presented to illustrate the application and performance of the proposed methodology. The proposed methodology is simple and robust. A key attractive feature of this approach is the fact that it can be directly implemented using an existing commercial grade power simulation software without any changes on it.
