Different approaches to the parametrization of the near-water atmospheric layer

摘要
Several models for calculating parameters of the near-water atmospheric layer are analyzed. Common defects of the conventional parametrizations are discussed. It is shown that, because of these defects, the authors are forced to use assumptions that are justified poorly in the physical sense and, therefore, lead to contradictory results. An alternative approach that is based on an unconventional division of the wind field into turbulent and wave-related components is proposed, Such division allows the identification of the turbulent component of the momentum flux with the momentum flux above the aerodynamically smooth surface, A numerical algorithm of the approach proposed is presented.
