FM-BASED PASSIVE COHERENT LOCATION SYSTEM, DETECTION AND ACCURACY

摘要
This paper proposes preliminary results from PCL (Passive Coherent Location) system developed by ERA and tested during real air traffic situations. The system utilizes eight-element circular phased array antenna and commercial FM radio transmitters as illuminators of opportunity in order to detect and track airborne targets. The system performance is compared to company's multilateration system being installed in Pardubice area in the Czech Republic. Due to limited number of simultaneously processed channels, results cover accuracy analysis of system's bistatic parameters (i.e. bistatic range and bistatic Doppler frequency shift) on the plots level separately for each antenna pair.
